How much cheaper is insurance from G2 to G?

Question: Hello, I am a 20 year old male driver with a G2 license. I have never gotten a ticket or been in an accident. I was wondering how much cheaper getting a G would make my insurance? I haven't gotten around to it yet because I am far from a test center and I'm not sure if driving all the way there is worth it. Thanks in advance for answers.

Answer: It depends on which company you are insured with and how long you have had your G2 license. With some companies if you've had your G2 for more than four years, getting your G license would result in a substantial decrease. If you've had your G2 for less than four years, then getting your G wouldn't in any decrease with most insurance companies.

G2 Insurance Rates?

Question: I just turned 17 and got my G2 driver's license shortly after I purchased a 2004 Toyota Celica (GT-S). I am now left with roughly 8000 dollars to spend on insurance. I currently DO NOT have a job but will get one once I graduate from high school. Can anyone recommend a cheap insurance company? Keep in mind that I am a male driver, and I would ideally like to spend 3000-5000 dollars on insurance in these two years as I still need money for gas and tune ups and other random things needed by cars. Answer: At 17, you're not going to get full coverage for that rate. So I hope you paid cash for the car, and don't need to carry collision. There aren't any "bargain" insurances out there - you usually get what you pay for. And there aren't any short cuts to shopping around. What's cheapest for me, might be most expensive for you.

Answer: 18 and male? There isn't one insurance company in Ontario that really wants you as a client, as you've probably noticed from the quotes you've been receiving. Is there a company that is cheaper than what you are being quoted now? Maybe, however by cheaper we might be talking a difference of 1-5% less. Keep shopping around, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.
