Ontario Auto Insurance by Month?

Question: Hi! I am planning on buying a used car in Ontario. I am only going to keep the car for the summer - about 3 to 4 months. I am wondering if any of you know of an insurance company that can go by the month (not just payment). I searched most companies, and their policies are year long. Many thanks! Charles

Answer: Nope sorry, no one in Ontario sells auto insurance for a month. Minimum policy term I've ever seen in Ontario is three months.

Where can I get temporary car insurance in Ontario, Canada?

Question: I just bought a car that needs to be safetied and e-tested before i can licence and insure it, and i need to get it to my house, to do some work on it before i can get it done. car is 120km away from me right now. I can get temporary plates, valid for 10 days, without the safety and etest, but the car needs to be insured for me to do get the temp. i dont own a car, and therefore dont have an insurance policy i can add it to for 10 days, so my question is... what insurance company can i get insurance from that wont make me sign up for a 3, 6, 12 month term, etc? Thanks.

Answer: No one offers that. That sort of the downside of a purely private system: not as much choice for consumers in terms of variation of policy terms. Here in B.C. you can purchase a temporary permit, including insurance, from 1 to 15 days but in Ontario no one that I know of offers this (I use to live and sell insurance i Ontario). The best you can do is purchase a 3 month policy and then cancel the insurance when you are done moving the vehicle. You will be subject to cancellation fees, but I don't see any other option.

Where can I find a cheap month-to-month apartemnt in Ontario Canada?

Question: I need a nice, clean furnished place for about 3 monthes in any part of ontario.except Toronto because it is expensive. Also which part of Ontario has lowest taxes and cheap car insurance?

Answer: In Canada most of the companues offer u good rates ,if u make an agreement for lon term. Just for 3 months u cant get a good deal. I will suggest Barrie, its a bit Cheap in rentals and Insurance. Not so Far from toronto
