Answer: When I lived in NJ the cheapest was New Jersey Manufacturers. To qualify for them the company you work for had to be insured by them. They are pretty picky but if you can get them go for it. Otherwise, call an independent agent who can compare companies for you.

Can a canadian car insurance company deny a claim from an accident in NJ when the police report faults them?

Question: A car accident took place in NJ, with a canadian semi-trailor truck from Canada. Answer: The insurance company will try to deny for any little reason. But, if you push back, you will certainly be able to get them to settle. They cannot take the driver's word over the police report. It simply would not hold up in any court. You shouldn't try to battle insurance companies without a good guide, though. They are very experienced. It would be like me going up against the Dallas Cowboys in football. There's a lot more of them and they've been doing it all their lives. It walks you through exactly what a lawyer does to make an insurance company give you the best settlement. I'm looking to change car insurance companies. I currently have GEICO in NJ and my rate is 733 for 6 months.

Answer: You would be best served by a LOCAL independent agent. Typically, an independent will have a dozen or more companies to choose from to fit your individual needs. Just look in your local phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you should find a professional agent there to help you. Are there any car rental companies in NJ that you only have to be 18 to put a car under your name?

Question: I am only 19 but I'm under my dad's insurance. Some lady backed into my car and the insurance company will pay for a rental car, but I know most of them you have to be like 25, but I'm sure there's at least ONE that you only have to be 18. I live in NJ. Does anyone know any??

Answer: Your insurance company would be the best place to start. They have agreements with car rental companies that may allow you to rent from them. Enterprise may be an option - in certain circumstances they will allow rentals to 18 year olds. If you are close to the New York State border you can rent from there. Rental companies in NY are required by law to rent to 18 year olds and up. Two other companies you can try are rent a wreck and ez rental. Not sure if they have locations near you but some of their locations rent to 18 year olds. I would also try some smaller local companies and as a last resort you could rent a truck. I believe all the truck rental places rent to 18 year olds - Penske for sure.
