List Of Car Insurance Companies

Is there a list of rankings of top car insurance companies? What is a good car insurance company?

Question: I'm shopping for car insurance and want to look for reviews of all the major companies out there. I want competitive prices, but good customer service is top priority, such as not trying to find a way out of paying me if I have an accident and not raising my rates without my knowledge like some companies are rumored to do.

Answer: Look, very few companies try to "find a way out of paying you". All those stories you hear, are about people who tried to find a way to trick a lower rate out of the insurance company, and they got caught. It doesn't HAPPEN that way. Not all insurance companies write in all states. No one ranks them, by "good", as it's SO subjective. But you CAN check with your state insurance department website, to see which companies have the most COMPLAINTS. In general, State Farm writes the MOST auto insurance policies in the USA, and has the lowest PERCENTAGE of complaints. I also think that USAA does a bang up job, but you have to be active military or police, or retired military, or child of a retired military person, to qualify.

I need a list of car insurance companies in the usa?

Question: I need a list of all (or as many as possible) car insurance companies in the united states. I need the names and phone numbers and more info on them if possible. Thanks ! I am not looking for a quote for myself. I am making a website that provides resources for car salespeople and they always need phone numbers for auto insurance companies to have id cards faxed over because customers never have anything they need. I figure there may be a list somewhere online with them all on. Chill out LT you don't have to do anything you don't want to :)

Answer: I don't think you can do that. See this http://gsx1.com/insuranceComparison.htmlthey are connected to some of the top names already, about 15 of them. These http://gsx1.com/Car-Insurance/100.php are different people connected to another lot. So nowadays you just get to fill in two quotes and about 30 insurers are compared. Less and less people are using phones to contact them too. Would you use a phone or save $175 a year? The choice is yours but more and more people are avoiding the useless middle man and just dealing with the insurer themselves..... via the sites.

Where can I find a list for medical utilization with regards to car accidents that insurance companies pay out?

Question: I was looking for a list of costs for different treatments that car insurance companies pay out to claimants (personal lines).

Answer: You're not going to find that list, at least, not for free. This is part of the proprietary data that insurance companies use to create their rates - trade secret. They heavily guard that information.

Do UK car insurance companies use some sort of black list when issuing quotes?

Question: A number of years ago my wife and I had a bad spell and were the cause of a number of minor accidents. We have been blameless for a number of years now except that we made two claims in the last 18 months for incidents that were not our fault (car ran into our stationery car in the icy conditions etc). Recent quotations for insurance have been excessive when you compare them with those of our friends who are the same age and have a more expensive, newer and more power-full car. They have never claimed on insurance.

Answer: Insurers share information to prevent fraud using the Central Underwriting Exchange (CUE). Usually, when you apply for a quote, they will ask you a series of questions, and at that stage, they rely on your honesty, so at that point, you could answer something incorrectly and there would be no way of checking your answer. Once your policy has been taken out, a cross check is done against the CUE database. It will check previous claims, motoring offences, if you have ever been refused insurance, if you have attempted to defraud a previous insurer etc. In cases where there is a discrepancy, the insurer will usually write to you for an explanation, then they have the option of either doing nothing, altering the policy to the correct rates for the risk or voiding the policy. There is the option of taking someone to court for obtaining insurance by deception, but insurers tend to just void the insurance and get rid of people who withhold material facts. If you are dishonest when you propose insurance, you are likely to be just as dishonest when you claim, and make false claims for stolen items that weren't really stolen or injuries you never had so insurers wont want your business. They will also check it again at random stages while you are with them, particularly if you claim. So many people with two cars, which are insured with different insurers feel that if you claim on one, you don't need to let the other insurer know, but we always find out through CUE. You would be surprised just how many people don't disclose things, and think we have no way of finding out. It's their loss as they are the ones making their own insurance worthless.
